1. Day 1
   Chiang Mai → Phrao → Chiang Dao

   Head east out of Chiang Mai on Route 1317, with Muang On Cave and the San Kamphaeng hot springs — where you can boil eggs in the spring itself — as the morning's stops. The 3005 lifts us onto the 118, which climbs north through the tea and coffee hills of Pa Miang, with an optional pause at the Mae Khachan springs. The day's best riding is the 1150, a proper mountain crossing west to Phrao, then Route 107 into Chiang Dao with the limestone massif of Doi Luang filling the horizon. Overnight beneath the mountain.

2. Day 2
   Chiang Dao → Route 1095 → Chiang Mai

   Morning at Chiang Dao Cave — the first chambers are lit, but the deeper caverns need a local guide with a lantern, which is the way to see it. Then south on Route 107 through Mae Taeng and west onto Route 1095 for a run of its curves, with an optional swim at Mok Fa Waterfall before we turn back. The 3009 spills us onto quiet back roads through Mae Rim. Tour ends at our base by late afternoon.
