THE BIKES YOU'LL RIDE

The right bike up here isn't the biggest one. A Click 125 can't climb the Mae Hong Son passes; a CT125 can — and a CT125 doesn't belong in a group of NX500s unless you've booked privately. So we match the bike to the road and to you, and the bike is in the tour price either way. There is no upgrade fee on any machine on this page.

Our bikes come out of the same Chiang Mai workshop that maintains them, and the rental side of the shop uses them too. So the honest answer to "can I have that one" is: usually yes, if it's free on your dates. Tell us which bike caught your eye when you enquire and we'll hold it if we can.

One exception worth knowing before you plan: The Last Frontier: Laos runs on manual bikes only — no automatics, no scooters.

BIG BIKES

Every one comes out of our own workshop, set up for touring — upgraded rear suspension, hand and engine protection, luggage racks. Lowered and adjusted for shorter riders, down to around 155 cm.
